They look, feel and work like real teeth – whether replacing one tooth or many, or to fix dentures in place. – Under local anaesthetic, a titanium screw is first placed beneath the gum line, into the jawbone – Over a period of 3-6 months, the healing process causes the bone and implant to fuse. A temporary crown or bridge can be worn at this time – When healed, the screw acts as an artificial tooth root and a crown or bridge is attached
The tooth implant procedure in York is carried out under local anaesthetic, to minimise discomfort. We also offer our nervous patients dental sedation. Finally, over-the-counter painkillers can help ease discomfort and pain following treatment.
A typical dental implant treatment takes 3-6 months*. If you need any teeth extracting, this is done before the implant treatment begins. Once the implants are placed and healed, an impression is taken and our state-of-the-art laboratory will make your bespoke bridge before it is fitted onto the implants at your final appointment.
